Accreditation Committee July 13, 2015 1- Accreditation Annual report: Herman will supply a paragraph on the implementation of the "reservation tracker" system to be added to section 1. Text will also be added about the future possible use of the rubric to section 5 (Areas of Focus for Next Year). 2- Reviews: Dates for Fall and Spring reviews were selected: Oct. 3, Nov. 7, and Nov. 21 of 2015 and Mar. 5, Apr. 2, Apr. 30, and May 7 in 2016. 3- Basic Data Form: We decided that we would not ask for documents to be supplied as part of the BDF submission but inform living groups that the review teams "may ask to see" various documents in order to obtain more insight to group organization. Such documents include: - retreat agenda * officer transition procedures * Risk Management policy * Member training procedure - signed RM agreements - examples of personal development plans (e.g. STAR) - accountability programs (often used for internal disciplinary action) * emergency procedures * financial training materials - a list of procedures - documents relating to philanthropic efforts (e.g. letters from charities) * alumni contacts Starred items were considered more important than the others and most likely to be requested. 4- Other colleges with accreditation programs: Links to programs at Bucknell and Gettysburg College were provided. These may be examined for insights as to how we might improve MIT's Accreditation program. 5- Rubric: We confirmed that the FSILG office should be added to the rubric evaluation before the review takes place. Some changes were adopted: - Governance & Oversight Level 1: a group officer has not voluntarily met with their primary FSILG advisor Level 3: a group officer has voluntarily met with their primary FSILG advisor once per semester - Membership Development Level 3: has 2 or more individual development programs for the full membership - Risk Management Level 3: has conducted 2 fire drills per year Level 4: conducts fire drills each semester and in the summer - Risk Management Level 4: Summer RM policy has been approved by both alumni and the FSILG office - Physical plant Level 1: no member has attended a house manager meeting Level 2: has attended at least one HM meeting Level 4: has attended all HM meetings 6- Next meeting: Aug. 17, 2015 at 3PM
