AILG Facilities Committee Meeting 4/3/2019 8 am at FCI Office MIT Student Center W20-020 Attendees: Larry Stabile, Scott Klemm, Tom Holtey, Tom Stohlman, Patrick McCabe, Pam Gannon, Brad Badgley, and by phone Bob Ferrara and Peter Cooper BSF, Tom Stohlman, reports that preinspections are complete for both Boston and Cambridge. Boston using system of a checklist to be filled out in advance of the ISD inspection. Facilities Renewal Plan status is half the house have a FRP and half still working. No response from four: PDT, PKTheta, DKE, and ZPsi which is a MITIMCo managed building with confusion about responsibility. Problem with sprinkler coverage due to modifications/lofts. Will escalate these four to AILG and FSLIG Office. Renewal plan progress slow; no financial commitment yet from MIT. Houses should do their own upgrades and apply to IRDF for grant funding. Should not wait for system wide program. Need to assign a Facilities Committee member to each challenged house to help in any way needed. Discussed facilities management model. Would require higher rent. Brad indicated that students these days are not interested in house maintenance. Discussed expanding FCI and SLI into Facilities Management. Needs more discussion. Need to define relationship with BSF. Perhaps do 10 houses as a pilot. Larry Stabile working on website. Nothing deleted. Rearranging items to first page. NEXT MEETING Wednesday May 1, 2019 8:00 am.
